Hi guys

Yesterday I got my Gigabyte 970 g1 gaming.

I didnt build it myself because i also upgraded to a new seasonic 620w and scythe katana 3.

I plugged the pc , booted it and downloaded newest drivers from nvidia website.

Then I launched gtav and ran it amazingly at 1080p very high 4x msaa 60 fps.

Later on a friend of mine came over through teamviewer and changed a few settings at nvidia control panel 3d smth.

Then i saw that h1z1 runs shit @ ultra 50 fps def render distance, this was a red light.

Csgo runs at fucking 100fps on 1080p highest settings. I couldnt believe.

Important to say i didnt run gtav since he changed settings before i restored to default which is the next thing i did.

Then i did msi kumbostor 3 plasma benchmark 3 times and got 18000 in all of them which is valid. Freqs are stock at 1177 and 1380 under load (i didnt oc yet).

Games still run shit after restoring nvidia cp to default.

My pc :

I5 2300 2.8 ghz

Gigabyte h67ma d2h b3

8gb ram 665mb

Seasonic 620w

Antec gx505

Windows 10 64bit

I read thousads of threads about i5 2300 and gtx 970 and i know it should work.

Everyone said it will work , all but one friend of mine which said waste of money to buy that gpu with that cpu . When i asked him about it today he also said that cpu is bottlenecking .

Sorry for not ellaborating too much im from phone.

Thanks in advance.

This post makes no sense. You only post about GTA 5 running smoothly, but then afterwards you didn't test it again but mention OTHER games.

Why don't you test GTA5 first and see how that compares.

Forgot to mention, after everything i optimized games settings at geforce.experience and then gtav ran at 60fps with 2x msaa but other settings higher .

Why did you let him on teamviewer?

Because he knows shit and anyway i restored everything to default

Gee... I wonder wot he could have done in teamviewer....

I restored to default whatever he did there

H1z1 is not optimized that well so 50fps is normal, average Kombustor score for preset 1080p. Cs go, maybe he set your fps limit to 100???

no its limited to 300 but doesnt eveb reach that. I tried uncapping it but same.

My brother gets 70fps at ultra with 7950 and i5 3570

In CPU dependant games like H1Z1 or GTA 5, a modern 6600K is about 1,6x faster. So yeah, it will matter.

However, if you were getting good performance before you should not suddenly have worse performance.

You are still being very vague about the before and after. Now you're changing settings and comparing things with different settings.

Can you please stop being so uncomprehensive and just test something you had an acute recollection of running smoothy and test it at the same settings again now. You can't possibly test something by constantly switching out the variables. It turns into a garbled mess...like this.

In game fps_max 0.

But why does it matter if it doesnt eveb pass 150 fps?

because setting a fps limit in nv control panel will over ride in game settings if restoring defaults didn't work uninstall everything including the control panel using nvidia ddu in safe mode and reinstall the newest drivers.

Yes I understand that and I will do that tomorrow since im now in bed and waking up to school in 7 hours.

I will reinstall drivers and test gtav at same settings like in the first time.

Hey mate,

I'm interested how does the i5 2500k stack up in benchmarks, I saw some GTA V benchmarks on mid and high end GPUs and the FPS was similar.

Have any links? :)
