Hello everyone,

So its about time for me to buy a new PC. I really want to get a super good PC which should last me longer. My budget is around 2.200EUR.

Specs:

- CPU: i7 6700k

- Motherboard: Asus Maximus VIII Hero

- Memory: 16gb Ballistix/Corsair DDR4

- GPU: Zotac GTX 980Ti Amp Extreme Edition

- Case: Corsair Graphite 780T or Fractal Design Define R5

- PSU: be quiet! Straight Power 10 800W

- HDD: Seagate 2TB

- SSD: Crucial MX200 500gb

- CPU Cooler: be quiet! Dark Rock 3

So this are the parts i choose for now.

I will use the PC for gaming and maybe streaming someday.

Should i go for the 6700k or the 5820k. I dont want the 4790k because i rather want the Next Gen Motherboards etc.

EDIT: Some people seems to have problems with all the 980ti (fan noise etc). Should i just go for a titan? and which one would be the best? Geforce Gtx Titan X?

So my question: Which is the best PSU to use with such a System and do you recommend another Motherboard or anything else. You can also give me a whole system recommendation if you want.

Its going to be my first PC which I will build myself, so im pretty nervouse already lel.

Hello everyone,

Well you could go with something like this, the build incudes a 144hz 1440p free-sync display sadly only TN, you could probably live with a less expensive motherboard as well and used the saved money towards an SSD

@Morgan MLGman damn you are awesome, so you recommend i get the 5820k over the skylake? and also the Msi 980ti over the zotac?

Yes, 5820k is way better than skylake and in germany they both cost the same for some reason.

And yes, the MSI cards are usually more reliable and get better reviews, I have my 2nd GPU from MSI and never had any issues.

Okay you guys are awesome. So but i will need to oc the 5820k right? I also want to think ahead, i will only be able to use 6core processors with the 5820k motherboard right?. The PC is going to last me a while anyway i think but just in case i want to exchange some parts, i want to make sure i go the right way, so you are saying i should rather go x99 than 1151 for the future?

@Streetguru Thank you for your recommendation, but i rather have a stronger gpu (also i want a nvidia + reference). My Budget can go up to 2400EUR if needed.

X99 should last you a good deal longer than 1151

Mostly the G-sync equivilant of that monitor costs 699, rather than 485, so nearly 200 dollars more for effectively the same thing.

You could up the GPU to a Fury which is naturally much closer to a 980ti but still gives you free-sync and a reasonable amount of performance per dollar.

Otherwise 2 390s are an option, and they would outperform a 980ti in most AAA titles that support dual GPUs.

Plus AMD cards seem to be getting a bigger boost from DX12, a 390x comes pretty close to the higher end cards

In early fable legends testing at least from this report, a 390x comes within 6fps of a 980ti at 4k, while costing a good deal less
