Keyboard for programming

I need a keyboard for programming. The Arvo from Roccat just doesn't cut it, its 2 small and he absence of arrow keys really slows down the work. 

 

Can you recommend some keyboards under the 150$ range. 

 

Also is it worth it to spend a little bit extra to get a mechanical one ?

Mechanical over membrane any day. I've heard that Cherry MX blue switches are good for typing and so are browns so you could look in that area. (Anyone correct me if I'm wrong)

Maybe a full mechanical gaming one?  I use a k70 myself.  Mine has cherry reds, and I prefer it for typing due to the quicker lighter response.  Honestly, try a few cherry mx switches out and see which you like the best.

Personally, i've used all types of mechanical switches and still have 1 keyboard that I can type better on than any others, and is more comfortable for typing over a set of hours.

Just go with whatever you're comfortable with. Try stores that sell keyboards and see what keyboards/switches they have and see if you like them.

 

Popular ones for 'typing' on mainly are Blues or Greens.

Go to best buy or a micro-center and test the keyboards they have.

Blues ate actually a lot lighter than you might think. And they have a nice tactile response as well.
