Alright so my mom cracked the screen on her phone (Samsung Galaxy S4 16gb) and took it in to a repair shop. After refusing to give it back to her without the original receipt, we finally got it and it worked fine. A few days ago my mom dropped it, and the screen went black, just turned off. The phone still works though, turns on and off etc. and when you turn it on the top quarter of the screen flashes for a second.

My main question is. Does it sound like the screen needs to be replaced again, or has something just rattled loose?

When I took the battery cover off there was a screw missing, so I'm assuming that the repair shop put it together carelessly and something has come undone inside, but I'd like you're guys' opinion before I got digging around in it with practically zero experience with phones.

Hopefully something has just been put loose. One of my friend's old phones would lose or regain digitizer functionality every time he dropped it. I would do things like shaking it and hitting it gently to see if that has any positive (or negative for that matter...) effects.

Sig under construction.

This happened to my old S4, tapped it on table and it went black and worked but no screen display. Turns out I broke the LCD screen somehow and not the glass (btw LCD for S4 is like 300 dollars) check if LCD broke under glass
