Hello everyone, My brother has recently started youtube, and me and my family are planning on getting him his first rig for Christmas. This will mostly be used for editing and super light gaming. So a dual core wont due. He will only play games like minecraft and Gmod, and he plans on recording those as well. My budget is 600$, but try and keep it near the 500$ range. Extra points for a theme, preferably green or blue. The editing he will be doing is pretty light, just cutting clips, adding in background music, basic starter stuff. Thanks for the help in advance!

This is what I came up with. Its a bit over your budget but for editing and gaming its pretty decent. Maybe look up some build guides?

EDIT: Just type in budge gaming build guide into YouTube or on google and a lot is sure to show up.

I tried, everything uses an i3 dual core.

Thats pure performance and silence, effieciency and yea.. all around goodness for youtuber.

I highly recommend a atr2100 as a mic for recording.atr 2005 too,whichever cheaper get it.

If you want blue/green theme

Change the case to apevia qpack 3(make sure 3!!) Blue/green

Or Bitfenix Neos blue or green also.

Keep the photon power supply for neos since cable management will be trouble and full modular is needed.

Change the ram to prefered colour and youre good to go

Fyi: CUSTOM LED WORKS LIKE A CHARM compared to parts just saying!

For 500 dollar build here it is:

http://pcpartpicker.com/user/darknuttyfilms/saved/mCRtt6

Why 30 more? I really want to make sure the build is quality one so it wont break due to having bad companies made it.

Changing the ram to 4gb can solve the 30 bux issue if you truly want to.

For the love of god, if you are able to get used graphics card,or windowed case,by all means do it because itll save you alot alot of money! Allowing even better performance

As for the 600 performance build i put up there, simple change the define s to s340/windowed define s +green LED/blue LED and ur good to go.

Lemme know if theres any other specific thing you want from the build,im super free now and i definitely would love to help.

The 600 one has super good upgradability if you change the photon to cx600m fyi.

I recommend

Audio technica atr 2100 (30-50)

As the mic

I would recommend sticking with NVIDIA gpu for shadowplay, its basically the best recording software atm.

Merry Christmas ^-^

Lemme know when you have read/taken it down, ill delete part list after cause i have many in plan

“It would seem that Our Lord finds our desires not too strong, but too weak. We are half-hearted creatures, fooling about with drink and sex and ambition when infinite joy is offered us, like an ignorant child who wants to go on making mud pies in a slum because he cannot imagine what is meant by the offer of a holiday at the sea. We are far too easily pleased.”

If you plan to keep the pc for 5 years without changing, get a better PSU such as cx430m-500m

I recommwnd nvidia over amd for shadowplay unless your bro knows how to use OBS very efficiently.

He will be using action for his recording software, as well as an elgato. As for the psu, I figured it was cheaper to get a 500W EVGA than a 430 W Corsair, and I want the 8 core for nice editing since he wont do a load of gaming.

Guys im not an intel fan,i go pure performance...

Amd cpu speed with 8 cores cant match an intel 4460 4 cores, its because editing uses physical cores much more efficiently,(good architecture too)

So i find no reason recommending amd + amd mobo when it costs exactly the same as 4460 + H81 MSI

for editing, a 8320 is faster then a 4460.

If you had argued a 4690k, then yes, i5 is better.

But locked i5 vs unlocked 8 core budget rendering monster... NOPE intel does not win this one.

my old FX 8320 OCd from 3.5GHz (stock) to 4.4GHz without voltage increases... at that level it got close to an i3 in single core and it was drawing close to my i7 4790k at multi core...

My FX was a good chip, but 700-900MHz on stock voltage (pure multiplier OC) is not uncommon according to google.

I don't know how well someone's going to be able to overclock on a budget board though.

but ya, the 8320e is going to beat out an i5 for sure when it comes to streaming/editing, especially when the saved money can get you a better GPU.

The Xeon 1231v3 is an option, but it costs twice as much as the 8320e

the Gigabyte 970 UD3P is capable of those overclocks, it costs only 74 bucks... so it aint that expensive really...

For medium overclocks, the stock cooler will do fine... loud as fuck, but fine
