Only use second screen when I need it. (SOFTWARE)

I'm looking for software to enable my second monitor only when at least minimum one program from a whitelisted apps list is running.

I know many people have good workflows with multiple monitors on all the time, they use them often and all that. And good for you.

For me it never became a thing... Usually my second monitor (just a monitor left over from upgrade) went unused and just showed a part of desktop.
Although I use it for some applications like programming, temp monitor and task manager while running games etc.
So I really don't want to bin it either, because in some occasions it is really useful for me to have that second monitor.
But having it on constantly and not really using it 90% of the time or enabling extended monitor from settings every time I need it is a bit bothersome.

So what I'm looking for is an application or a script to enable the second monitor only when I run certain applications and if possible automatically start those applications on the second monitor.

Looking forward to your response guys :)

Windows 10 btw.

why not just leave it on?

or just leave "extended display" on and turn the monitor off manually whenever you dont use it?

Unfortunately, I think something like that is per-program based. Such as using the second monitor for editing purposes. I don't know of anything that can control when your second monitor turns on and off, besides your own hand. You seem to know exactly what you want, why not make the program yourself and make some money off it? Or have hire a programmer to do it.

Have you tried the projector shortcut buttons? No idea if they might solve it but you can give it a try.

It's windows button + p. Again, no idea if it works, but it does get the job done here with W7.

It's not automaticly, but it's probably the quickest way to get the result you want and it just works. No scripts or anything needed :P

If you want my attention, quote meh! D: or just stick an @samcool55 in your post :3
