I cant decide

Go to solution Solved by manikyath,

chromebook: tablet with a keyboard strapped to it

macbook: sturdy laptop, but you pay heavily for the casing build quality

razer blade: powerful laptop, but you're gonna be carrying around that power.

so i was wondering if i should get a

any razerblade (the windows option)

any macbook (the mac option)

any chromebook (supposedly better for school)

im going to be using it for homework

and not gaming

i have experience with a mac already (currently using a macbook pro)

and some with a chromebook

and some with a windows

surface pro

maybey kinda sorta

chromebooks are better for nothing.

There are also plenty of other good Lenovo/Asus/Dell choices that are a fraction of the cost of both a Mac or the Razerblade (although my personal vote goes for the rMBP, but I like OSX, plus the battery life, build quality, PCIE ssd, and iris pro are all nice touches).

No use converting to PC or chromebook if you like OS X

It depends, what is school for you? just text processing? anything can do that, if you are in a specialized area and use certain programs, check which platform they run best on. I personally would go Windows 10/10 times, but hey, thats just me.

no, the surface pro is actually a capable machine. the chromebook isnt.

i prefer to call devices like the chromebook "facebook machines" because thats pretty much all they can do.

Personally I would get a dell or something, I won't recommend a mac due to the sheer cost, razor has to much power to be battery practical and the chrome book is a glorified tablet, so In my view your best option is none of the above unless your made of money.

I mean.. Between Mac VS. PC these days it's all about what you prefer. Also, Cromebooks are pretty useless since they mostly use Internet based things for everything you do. If you want all the fancy programs that come with OSX- buy a Mac (except DON'T BUY THE 2015 MODEL WITH ONE CONNECTOR. IT WILL LITERALLY BAKE ITSEF TO DEATH.) A Windows laptop will give you much more in terms of raw performance and customize ability for cheaper.

Go with what you want in the end. I can't recommend buying a new MacBook since they're overpriced, but I can recommend you get something like an Ultrabook by a good manufacturer like Lenovo for school.

EDIT- for Photoshop get a Windows laptop. The Razer Blade is very good, even Linus recommends it.

Yes the surface pro is a tablet but it is a tablet that is capable of running the full Windows OS. Not like the "iPad" type of tablet where they have their own special "iOS". (Using a Surface Pro 3 to type this response. Yay!)

Best "Laptop" 2k15. The charging brick is well.... literally the size and weight of a brick.
