Go to solution Solved by techguru,

Did you read my post when I said I will build a new PC next year, I just want to find a driver for what I have now?

well... amd themselves only seems to support up to windows vista for that series...

i'm gonna pitch the idea of getting an upgrade :/

to what?  An Xbox 360?  Yeah... I agree :)

Solve your own audio issues  |  First Steps with RPi 3  |  Humidity & Condensation  |  Sleep & Hibernation  |  Overclocking RAM  |  Making Backups  |  Displays  |  4K / 8K / 16K / etc.  |  Do I need 80+ Platinum?

went to check on your profile to see what your system is.

if we ignore that your build is an obvuious troll (and this thread probably is as well)

if you're rocking a "GTX RADEON R9 Titan XYZBLACKREDGREENBLUE" i feel like there should be budget to swap out that old card with a GT740...

Well I knew that but I wanted to be able to use this GPU with windows 7 so I wanted to know if there was a different drivers that would work like maybe the vista driver

Well I actually have the ATI card, and I would like to run it on a computer with a 720p monitor I have and see if I can play some games on it

i honestly doubt that thing even has the juice to run W7 properly, even at low res.

nvidia seems to be a bit better on their driver side, I might take a look at some 8800 gts's or fork over the cash for a 960 or 950...I will think about it but for now I really want to try and find a driver for what I have

I have it running windows 7 at 1080p currently ...I just can't launch any games without a driver update

wouldn't that be a downgrade?

You would think so, but actually I think the Xbox uses something on the order of a X1800, so no, probably not :)

I already have a 360, I just don't plan to invest in games for it

well then maybe invest in hacks to run windows on it since it will probably do better than that computer.  Seriously.

OK, well maybe don't waste time trying that, but in theory, it actually would perform better.

This will just be something temporary for me to use untell I build a new PC next year, the integrated Graphics died on the board I have and this is the only GPU I had laying around.

Doesn't a Xbox 360 only have 512MB of ram...and a CPU equivelent to Athlon 3700

The CPU in those was actually crazy for the time - a tri core when most computers were just getting dual core, and a PowerPC at that, clocked at 3.2 GHz?  Jeez...  PowerPC if you don't know was special compared to x86 chips like intel and AMD since they could do far more with a single clock cycle, and thus most at the time were running in the 1 - 1.5 Ghz range and even the intel chips were not coming out at 3 GHz stock (if I remember correctly)

I knew it had 6 threads and 3 cores but I thought the performance was poor, but with modern stuff out there I think I could just build a console killer for a little more

Well, yes, now you can for ~$300 build a PC that will beat even the "next-gen" consoles, so as we've suggested, it might be time to upgrade rather than spending time hunting for a driver that probably doesn't exist

Yes, but to wait a whole year with what you have might not be practicable.

If you can't start the new build now, then I'm not sure what other options you have available; even if you got that card working, you won't be playing any games, and even just using a modern OS will be a struggle.  My point is it's probably not worth the effort.

If you're system is sufficient for now, then I would say just stick with it.

And about Minecraft, don't let the graphics fool you... that game can be stupidly demanding in some cases, especially if you want any kind of reasonable fps or draw distance.
