For a smooth medium gameplay 60fps gtx 750ti or 960?

veltix

@Hiebly

A psu of 300w and i5 650 able to support: (1) r7 250x (Y/N) (2)gtx 750ti (Y/N) (3) r7 360 (y/n) 4) r7 260x (Y/N)?

Will it bottleneck the games or lagging. Will be running on med/high no aa. Achievable to 60fps or lesser than that?

Games are: mgsvpp,bf3,4,hardline. Mw3,aw,ghost and bo2. Crysis3 and ac unity.

Bottleneck will depend on what settings, resolution and framerate you're looking for. I expect 60 FPS would be difficult in more demanding titles like BF4/BFH or AC Unity... no idea how demanding MGS is, I've never played or researched it. The COD games should be pretty easy to get above 60 FPS if you play around with the settings. If you want a good comparison see if you can find some benchmarks of the games you play using an Intel i3-2100, as the performance of the i5-650 is very comparable.

Now with the 300W PSU the R7 360 and 260X might be a bit of trouble depending on what connectors the PSU has and how close to its rated wattage it can actually provide... but the GTX 750 Ti is probably the best route out of all those. On top of being the most power efficient (and only slightly behind the R7 360 in performance), Nvidia's drivers have less CPU overhead meaning that a weak CPU is less likely to bottleneck an Nvidia GPU in DX11 games than an AMD GPU.

So you should have zero issues with a GTX 750 Ti, aside from some slight bottlenecking if you're looking for very high framerates.

edit:

Here are some videos I've found of i3-2100 performance... not with the GPU you're using but you can get an idea at least of what framerates the CPU can provide before becoming the bottleneck:

Any of the brands you've mentioned will do fine. You could go with the cheapest or the one with good customer support. I've seen many people mention good things about EVGA customer support.

Will i5 650 bottleneck gtx 780ti or gtx 770? if i change to a better psu?

It'll probably bottleneck a lil bit. But if you're getting a great deal on the 780 Ti or 770 then go for it.

I5 6500 the best. So can a ddr4 mobo support ddr3 ram?

A Skylake CPU? If the mobo is specifically for DDR4 then no. DDR4 socket is different from DDR3.

@Pohernori

Im mainly into solo play(mission/campaign ) not multiplay.

It'll still bottleneck a little in some single player games like gta 5.

Nothing's wrong, but I'd go with a i5 + h97 or a i5 4690k + z97 if you want to overclock. Also a 390 will be just as good if you can find it for around the same price as the 970 you're getting.

Mhz only matter if you're comparing the exact same component. It wouldn't matter for your case.

from your choices the 960 is the most powerful. However, if you shop around you can find some good GPU's around that price range like the R9 380.

Spoiler

Asrock h81m board. Can it be use to overclock i5 4690k?

Yes it can be done. But I will tell you not to do it. H81 motherboard lacks quite a lot of features for overclocking. You'll definitely want those especially when you're gonna be overclocking a 4690K. Grab a Z97 board instead, one that has nice power delivery.

Hmm. I used to always turn on PhysX when I had a Nvidia card but I don't miss it. Only in Batman Arkham Knight where I found the smoke PhysX effect to be really interesting but what a pity Arkham Knight turn out to be shitty.

I5 4690k and a 980ti and or titan x. Wud it overkill 1080p monitor?

Pretty overkill. But why not?

If you want to turn things down a notch, you could take a look at the 970/390.

I5 4690k and a h97. I chose. Shud be no problem. Both the same? When overclock it, will it get burnt the cpu or any parts inside?

Z97 please. Don't want you to be risking damaging your mobo or CPU.

Just because u have 1080p monitor doesn't mean you have to play games at 1080p. =p

In cpu intensive games(like gta 5), the 4460 will have some bottlenecks but just a little.
