Question about the recent LTT hack?

so ive been gone for a week and got the email about the recent breach in security. Were the accounts compromised if we signed in with chrome auto sign in?  or was it like a key logger and only got the password when typing it in? 

Space Journal #1: So Apparently i  was dropped on the moon like i'm a mars rover, in a matter of hours i have found the transformers on the dark side of the moon. Turns out its not that dark since dem robots are filled with lights, i waved hi to the Russians on the space station, turns out all those stories about space finding humans instead of the other way around is true(soviet Russia joke). They threw me some Heineken beer and I've been sitting staring at the people of this forum and earth since.

The accounts would be compromised if they were logged in period.

 

The authentication between your browser and the server sends your encrypted password , that was potentially intervened by the hackers (who had the decryption key, or at the very least an IV key if they use Stream cipher crypto), this way they know your password.

 

Just change all your accounts using that e-mail address and you should be fine

thanks for the info, i did change all my relating passwords, but it used to be my default throw away password that i only used to "un important" accounts, and there are alot of those accounts in my life.

it was a "man in the middle" attack, even if you used an auto sign in you should still change your password which is why you got the email 

 

the only way youre safe is if you used social media to sign in or never got signed out and had to sign in again

If you logged into this site using a username and password, then it was compromised. If you signed in via a 3rd party site such as Facebook, Twitter or Steam, then you are fine as those sites never transmit your password.

It seems the way other articles have worded it seem to be confusing people.
