Ive been fucking my brains out wondering which build I should get the practical side wants the titan build and the side that wants things to look good wants the 980ti build.

Here they are

Now the 980ti I can put on a custom loop. But do I need the titan Im planning to run 3 1080p monitors and pkaying some games. So do I need it or should I future proof? Thoughts?

The 980Ti and TitanX perform almost the same in games.

There is no need for a TitanX here. Go with the 980Ti.

Go for a 980ti, get a better power supply, please much better. Refer to this thread when buying a Power supply: http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/404921-strmfrmxmns-psu-whitelist/

You can do much better in terms of storage solutions, something like a 500gb 850 evo ssd along with a 4tb or even 6tb WD Black HD is plenty.

980 Ti performance is almost the same, higher in some cases because of custom PCB's allowing better overclocks

My current build - Ever Changing.

I would choose the second one purely because of some Bunnings pump because we all know Bunnings make great pumps

Do you play football/soccer?

Cause you look like a left-back

Whatever you say Captain! Don't come later asking what's that strange noise or why it is overheating.

There's no tangible benefit from the Titan X over the 980ti for you. It's very likely that your watercooled card and CPU would squeeze out significantly more performance than the Titan.

If you're looking for better future proofness, you may consider Skylake. The performance is really nearly the same, but the socket will (presumably) be used by intel for a while.

Both cards are based on the same GM200 chip.

The main difference is the VRAM of 6GB on the 980Ti and 12Gb on the TitanX.

Another small difference is the amount of cuda cores. 3072 on the TitanX and 2812 on the 980Ti.

And that's already it. Those difference don't matter currently in gaming performance. You'll see pretty much the exact same frame rates with a 980Ti that you would see with a TitanX.
