I am going to bring my desktop computer in for a class. My worry is that the graphics card and/or the sound card will snap when going over a speed bump when leaving my neighborhood. over anything else that can cause the car to rock/jump like when driving on a bridge. Is it ok to leave my gigabyte gtx 660 and/or my sound blaster zx sound card installed while driving to/from my college? the road is only asphalt when out of the neighborhood and what ever material road is made of when in a neighborhood. Thanks for the help!!!!

Just place the PC on its side.

I am going to do that, but then I worry about the motherboard snapping from the weight of all the pcie cards plugged in.

Unless you go over a speed bump at speed on a go-cart the motherboard will be fine. they have quite a few anchoring points, and the GPU is fastened at the "top" (in respect to the PC while sideways) so that will help keep it in place.

So you're saying that if I go over a speed bump while in a neighborhood with the pc on its side, that the motherboard will not snapp and neighter will the graphics and sound cards?

I am almost certain. I cannot guarantee it though... I went over a speed bump (also known as my city's excuse for a ROAD) and my monitors bounced high enough I could see them in the rearview mirror. PC didnt suffer any injuries. If you are paranoid about it, find some antistatic bagging and stuff it between the GPU and soundcard and whatever is underneath it.

As long as they arent spinning they should be fine. and they shouldnt be spinning unless you somehow have your PC plugged in while transporting it.

you could also put graphics card in bags and then in your glove box or something

If you are really concerned, just take your GPU out and plug it back in when you get to your college/home/other destination

Follow the topics you create using the "Follow" button in the top right corner!

One day I will have my GTX 970. One day. PC specs are at my profile.

Not sure how to check what part works with what? Check out my compatibility guide!
