I have built a new PC and have installed windows 10, when downloading i made sure that i selected the 64-bit version however when i go into system type it says i have installed the 32-bit version. I have tried this twice now and have got the same result. Has anyone else had this problem? If so how do you fix it?

just a controlling question: do you actually have a 64 bits processor?

also, please make sure you did not make the mistake of thinking X86 == 64 bits, as you need X64 although the number is lower, (I still think this confusing)

Computer's don't make errors. What they do, they do on purpose.

I have checked and have definitely selected the 64-bit version

what does your win7/8.1 say, was it 32 or 64 bits?

check this link: http://www.howtogeek.com/228042/how-to-switch-from-32-bit-windows-10-to-64-bit-windows-10/

at the Does Your CPU Have the Required Features? section, it says some important stuff.
