Hey all,

I'm building a new PC rig. My specs include:

Mobo: Gigabyte AM3+ GA-970A-DS3P

RAM: Crucial 8GB DDR3

GPU: R9 280x Sapphire

CPU: FX-8320

HDD: Hitachi Deskstar 2TB

Chassis: Rosewill Galaxy-02

Monitor: Acer G226HQLBbd 21.5"

If you haven't noticed, this is a budget PC so please give me a good yet cheap PSU that will get the job done and give me the ability to expand. By projected wattage is 484W so maybe a 550W-600W PSU? Also, I haven't actually bought the HDD yet so if anyone knows of a better 2TB HHD please feel free to leave a suggestion.

Spring for a 990FX motherboard. These AMD CPUs just beg to be overclocked and the 970 mobo will limit you in that regard. The Gigabyte 990FXA-UD3 isn't too much more, and then you never have to worry about being limited by your board.

All that said, I still strongly recommend the i5-4460 like don_svetlio suggested.

Edit:
Nevermind, just saw that you already have the CPU and mobo.

I already have the mobo and cpu so I'd have to buy another mobo and cpu :'( but thanks for the psu suggestion!

if you have them then that's a different story - don't swap them just because :P - but the PSU should be fine for OCing the GPU
