Nvida North/southbridge, it controls things like the PCI/PCI-e devices, SATA, USB, etc.

Edit: It also has integrated video too.

Not to derail the thread, but look at this bad boy:

No SATA, no audio, no video, no CPU socket, no problem.

Cpu sockets? Nah

Cpu slots? Hell yeah lol

Looks like something like a pentium II would go there.

One bitchin' workstation board from the 90's(98 if not 99). Its my pride and joy. This is back when PC's were actually cool.

I kid you not, I had a computer with that exact same motherboard.

Mine was in a HP Kayak XM600, and it had a RAM riser card that added slots.

So pissed off at myself that I sold the damn thing.

I'm mad at you too then lol :P

The HP had a green version of my board, probably because of it being an OEM order for HP:

Yeah I forget what colour it was, might need to sift through my photos to see if I can find the pictures I took of it.

The Slot 1 processors were awesome to tinker with, I remember the first time trying to extract one from a computer and hoping that I wasn't going to break the supports lol

After going through about 20 CD's worth of photos, I've FINALLY struck gold and found some pictures of the HP Kayak I had.

I'll try posting them in a spoiler because these pictures are in 1024x768.
