I tried to like the new Android Pay, but I can't. I don't have any lock on my phone, and with Wallet forcing me to use Android Pay, and Android Pay forcing me to use a lock to save my cards, I give up. I tried.

I really liked when Wallet allowed me to pin to unlock just my Wallet, pay, re-lock the Wallet and move on. But now, I try to open Wallet, only to be forced over to Android Pay just makes me angry. I want the old Wallet back. I don't want a lock on my phone, it makes using my phone a pain in the ass. Need to enter a pin to see a text, or every 20 seconds during a snapchat conversation, bleh.

Am I the only one bothered by this? I use Wallet at vending machines because for some reason my card won't work in them, and now I'm just hosed. Oh, and I tried Android Pay for a day. I don't understand why the machines don't like my card, but will accept it when it's in my Android Pay and used via NFC. Just so damn stupid.

I don't think you really understand that android pay is a much more secure method and involves transactions directly with banks rather than google trying to be a middle man, logging what people purchase in order to better advertise to consumers by the use of learning through data.

However, banks never got onboard and didn't see it fit to track customers purchasing history, so that never took off.

Weird. I was under the impression it was rolled out everywhere by now. I don't know how lucky I'd consider myself, I don't enjoy it at all. Lol

it might be technically launched..but doesn't mean most retailers..especially in other countries..support it yet...or maybe ever

No, I do know that Wallet was using Google as a middle man. I just don't want a forced screen lock. It is very annoying, makes using my device a pain in the ass. Let me unlock my wallet when I want to use it, not lock my whole damn phone.

I'm just saying why google wallet was a bad idea and why android pay is the way it is.

Again, first point I made

you kind of want some level of security if it's pulling money directly out of your account like that if it's a debit card, that and these transactions can be made so fast.

If you think it's difficult to unlock your phone, I really think that's just a personal problem.

lol any form of exploit on a system level won't work as you need to be using a OEM distributed operating system and not be rooted.

im sure there is a way to hide root

and theres ways to throw a new rom on a phone..without triggering the security tag

nope, there isn't (if you are referring to xposed rootcloak). So far you have to have  a build.prop that uses release keys in it but it still won't work if you try and edit it and then unroot it.

It just flat out doesn't work on custom ROMs or rooted devices.

Apparently it's much more than just a "personal problem" because it's a big reason why Android Pay has a shit load of 1 star ratings on the Play Store.
