Gaming laptop questions

First im looking at possibly getting a gaming laptop, MUST be a 17"...

Was looking at the razor pro but its freaking 2700 bucks and only has a 960m? Idk but i really like how thin it is.

Im looking to get recommendations on what brands and models to look at, staying under 3000USD.

My list of wants:

-17"

-Thinner the better (used to have rog laptop and was just too heavy and bulky)

-would like a 980m (or should i wait for the nvidia full 980 laptop to come out?)

-1080p screen is ok but wouldnt be mad about a higher resolution screen

Kinda like the aorus x7 as well, has dual 965m's i think.

I know there are some off brand companies that make some good laptops, but i dont know of them so if any are known, let me know

Yea kinda looking at this, has a new 5th gen cpu, 970m in sli 6gb (3gb x 2)... thin, with what seems to be solid construction.... does anyone have one of these?

it might be a bit thicker then you expect, seeing as on the pictures they have cut the thing in half right under the ports. i believe you can see the actual thickness of it on the pic of the back, or just google it. 

still, it looks like a pretty good laptop. just not sdomething i would be heppy carying around a lot. it looks heavy!

 

if you want a thin, good performing laptop, look at the MSI GS60. or some other designs by MSI. they make pretty thin laptops. (just avoid the dominator and titan models, theyre heavy as fu)

or maybe a razer blade?

I would wait for the new 980 laptops to drop, Aorus are bringing a model out with that GPU

Also look into the MSI Ghost Pros

And most importantly, have a look at Clevo

 

Although I no longer like 17"+ sized laptops so...yeah
