Hello,

I have the Corsair M40 Mouse and for some reason this button has stopped working:

m40a 1

Does anyone have a fix for this it's pretty annoying because now I can't get my DPI any higher and can't play any games until I have the money for a new one,

Thanks.

does it work on other computers? or does it not work at all? Does it do anything if you press it harder or wiggle it? trying to figure out if its a hardware or software fault.

just change your windows pointer speed...

or download the corsair software and switch your DPI with that

Just tried and it doesn't work on a different PC, It's stuck on the lowest setting and the mouse is really slow  :(

Probably a hardware fault. can you carefully dissasemble it and spray some contact cleaner or equivilent from the hardware store into the bad button? Or leave it as is and RMA it?

I've solved half of the issue, The software lets me adjust the DPI without actually pressing the buttons, But I'd obviously rather have a mouse that actually works as it's supposed to.. So I'll try taking it apart and seeing what I can do.. What do you suggest doing though and is contact cleaner the same as Isopropyl alcohol because I have some of that

lol you can't play because a useless button doesn't work?

I couldn't play because the DPI was too low, try playing an FPS with low DPI, It takes atleast 10 seconds just to turn around

Contact cleaner dries much faster than rubbing alcohol. Its designed to spray into electrical things and allow them to be cleaned without shorting things out. rubbing alcohol has a small amount of water in it which could corrode it if not COMPLETELY dried.

Are you talking about compressed air in a can?

Contact cleaner is different it's for cleaning electrical switches or contacts, I've had  a similar issue but with my right click button where it washed the switch with 99% isopropyl alcohol which seemed to fix it 99% of the time.
