possible AMD to Intel upgrade?

I currently have an AMD a10 6700 apu that I got in a prebuilt computer about a year ago (blck oc to 3.8 ghz, boost ~4.3 ghz).  I'm debating an upgrade to Intel, but I don't want to drop $500 on the i5 4690k, new mobo, and new ram.  I use my pc for gaming and internet browsing only (no rendering or media production).  I no longer use the integrated graphics of the apu and have a discrete MSI 970 gaming 4gb.

Is there an Intel core i5 that I could upgrade to only spending $300 on the cpu, mobo, and ram that would increase my gaming performance?  (Ideally 60 fps high-ultra settings.  Currently I can do 30 fps at ultra, but must turn down graphics settings to reach consistent 60 fps.)

The other reason I'd like to upgrade is my current mobo is outdated now and I want to upgrade to a board that has at least SATA 3 and onboard USB 3.0 support.  So I suppose a 2nd option for me would be to upgrade to a better FM2+ board with those added features.

Attached is the CPU Z stats of my current processor when stressed using prime 95.

Thanks!

Hm, why do you need new ram? Aren't you using DDR3 already? oO

RAM is OEM samsung that I haven't been able to find on any LGA 1150 mobo compatability charts.  Figured I would just boring off the shelf RAM that fit whichever mobo I end up getting.

I think you'll be safe with your current ram for a while until you can get new one. Ram is ram. You're better off putting your $300 into the cpu/mobo and change the ram later on

Fair enough.  My Windows came preinstalled with the machine last year.  Any advice on an amd to intel mobo swap using an OEM OS?  Can I get away with an ISO image on a USB drive, then do a "repair" install?

I've been considering the 4460.  Do you have any specific reasons for choosing that cpu?

its cheap, it's way faster, and it's good for a budget Intel CPU, but there is no performance loss.

you can reinstall Windows and call Microsoft over the phone to activate Windows for you.

I too have generic samsung RAM! It's the best. If it's ddr3 it will work pretty much anywhere that supports ddr3. RAM speed doesn't matter much, if you have 8gb just slap it in there

All RAM manufacturers use RAM chips from either Samsung, Hynix and I believe one more company. Different brands just give you different warranty or a fancy headspreader, but the actual RAM is the same.
