390 rather than a 970. Looks great otherwise.

You could go with a Barracuda or a WD Black instead of a red

Yeah the HDD made a difference in price but the GIGABYTE (cheapest) r9 390 is just 16USD cheaper (In my country) than the Asus 970 lol.

Do not get Gigabyte AMD cards.

Sapphire, MSI, and Powercolor do fairly well. Gigabyte and ASUS are the last ones you wanna use.

What about Galax?

Galax for AMD cards? I do not truly know. Did not even know they made coolers for AMD. They are very good for the nVidia side of things but AMD, Someone else will have to give you information on them.

Oh I was suggesting an R9 390 which is slightly better then a 970 and handles higher resolutions better.

I think I can go with a 250GB ssd,

You can. But should you?

If you can afford a 6700k and a 970, not really. 500GB will allow you to store at least some games on your SSD and move them whenver you switch you get a new one or switch ;)

You could save around a hundred buck by sticking with a 4790k. I'm not actually convinced that the 6700k deserves the price premium. However, for future proofness the new platform may be better. And if you WANT to save on the SSD additionally, you could try to squeeze a 980 in there...

Hey there MedoKn,

Your plan seems pretty good. It should be sufficient enough for what you need it for. :)

One small note regarding the storage: WD Red drives are designed for NAS, servers and RAID array usage. As NAS/RAID-class drives they have additional features in their firmware and hardware (such as TLER nad NASware) that enable it to work smoother and safer in such conditions. When these drives are used in regular desktops these features are not being utilized at all and they work just as regular HDDs. In this case, WD Red should function pretty much like WD Green.
I would recommend swapping the drive with either WD Green for cool, quiet and energy-saving secondary storage or WD Black for good and fast performance. Here are some more details on the drives:

Feel free to ask if you happen to have questions :)
