I am looking to getting a decent 1080p monitor. And I was just wondering if 144hz is really worth the extra $100 usually from what I can see.

For about $250 you can get something like  http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824160177  that which is 1080p and 144hz AND a 1 ms response time. So would It be worth it to only replace one of my older lower res monitors for a nice or or use that money to get 2 1080p monitors that are only 60hz and 5ms response time.

Currently I have a 1600x900 and a 1680x1050 monitor. But I want to upgrade. I don't have a set budget but I don't want to pay to much.

But main question is.... Is a higher refresh rate and response time worth it?

I just recently bought my first 144hz 1ms 1080p monitor and I have to say that it was definitely worth the extra little bit of money, but make sure that your system can run the extra resolution and frame rate because going from 60 to 144 is going to make your computer (mainly GPU) work more than twice has hard.

CPU: i7-8700K I CPU Cooler: Noctua NH-D15 GPU: ROG Strix 1080 Ti MoBo: ROG Strix Z370-E RAM:  G.SKILL Ripjaws V Series 32GB (2 x 16GB)   PSU: CORSAIR HXi Series HX1000i Case: Corsair Air 540 Display: 24" 1920X1080p 144Hz ASUS - 27" 2560X1440p 144Hz Dell OS: Windows 10 Home 64bit

My i5 4690k is at 4.4 and I am about to overclock my R9 280 so I can run it.

144hz > everything IMO. Even at 60 fps 144hz is MUCH smoother than 60 fps on a 60mz monitor. Its honestly the biggest upgrade you can make IMHO.

Depends on the games you play and whether your gpu can give you high framerates.

Fps games like bf4 it definitely makes a difference. Games like skyrim or Witcher 3 probably not so much.
