Go to solution Solved by the pokemon kid,

i know what the problem is 2 pins in the socket bend but with my old cpu is it working so i have o buy a other mobo thanks for the help everyone!!

Sorry to hear that dude, If you get a new board you could try rebending the pins back on the old board. I think Linus did a video a while ago, but it is very delicate job!

Please help , I bought a new CPU Q8300 and now every time I boot my PC it go's on for 2 sec and then it turn off and repeat that and if I put old CPU back again than its working fine ?? its not the bios bicause its up to date I have an intel mobo socket 775 dg33fb 8GB DDR2 ram MSI HD 7790 2GB OC GPU hope one of you can help me

We can't Benchmark like we used to, but we have our ways. One trick is to shove more GPUs in your computer. Like the time I needed to NV-Link, because I needed a higher HeavenBench score, so I did an SLI, which is what they called NV-Link back in the day. So, I decided to put two GPUs in my computer, which was the style at the time. Now, to add another GPU to your computer, costs a new PSU. Now in those days PSUs said OCZ on them, "Gimme 750W OCZs for an SLI" you'd say. Now where were we? Oh yeah, the important thing was that I had two GPUs in my rig, which was the style at the time! They didn't have RGB PSUs at the time, because of the war. The only thing you could get was those big green ones.

its up to date =(

Then try perhaps an older version of the bios. That might work

Try swapping ram. Removing some. Using one stick etc..

Do you get any kind of display the new cpu ? If not then maybe it was DOA . perhaps you should return it.

Hmm - and it's fine with the old CPU? I assume you got it 2nd hand, any bent or missing pins when you compare both?

try taking out the GPU and all sticks of RAM except for one. plug the screen into the motherboard and see if you can get into BIOS. The add things back in slowly to see if anything is the problem part.

If it still doesn't work, then you either have an issue with the motherboard. but if the old CPU works then more than likely there is an issue with the new CPU.

Do you have another motherboard you can try your two processors in?

It is looking highly likely it could be a dead CPU or a CPU which is just not working with this motherboard.

When in doubt, try this, (if off-on doesnt work)

if not, you've got a problem that neither me nor me can fix.
