IPS or PLS?

Kaita

Hello guys. I'm getting a new monitor (Finally getting rid of my old crappy 18.5") and want to know what's the difference between these 2 monitors. First one is a PLS monitor (Samsung LS24D390HL) and the other one is an IPS monitor (LG 23MP75HM-P). Which one is better?

CPU: AMD Ryzen 5800X GPU: Nvidia RTX 3080 12GB + Motherboard: Asus Crosshair VIII Hero

Case: Asus ROG Strix Helios Gundam Edition Power Supply: Asus ROG Thor 850P

Pretty much.

I'd get the LG one because I have a samsung monitor and its lack of compatibility is extremely annoying (not VESA compatible)

IPS.

PLS is a hybrid almost of TN/IPS, allowing for faster refresh rates for an IPS display but you dont get the colours that you get on a full IPS panel.

Edit, seems as if I was wrong.

"All in all, PLS is very comparable in practice to IPS. It should be noted that some display manufacturers market their screens as using an IPS panel, whereas underneath the hood the panel is actually a Samsung PLS matrix."

"Response times are very comparable to IPS matrices,"

"PLS was introduced by Samsung at the end of 2010 and designed to compete with LG.Display's long-established and very popular IPS technology. It is an IPS-type technology and for all intents and purposes can be considered IPS,"

So which one has the better colors and all that stuff? If they're the same then I might just go with the Samsung because its cheaper.
