BF4, Halo, Arma 3, Dirty Bomb, Payday 2, GTA 5, Metro last light, 2033, borderlands 2/sequal/1, Fallout 3/4, Red orchestra 2, Company of heroes 2, bad company 2, BF3

Company of heroes 2?

I recommend checking out Hard Reset, Shadow Warrior 2013 and Wolfenstein The New Order. They all have different settings so check them out and see what you like. Lots of people even think that Shadow Warrior has better story then BioShock Infinite and I kind of agree with it.

They all have fun gun play and decent level design(some levels are very good some are not that good). They are very much a mix of the best of old school and modern FPS game design.

All of these games look really good. Especially Hard Reset. It has a really cool cyberpunk design.

And few points for Wolfenstein. It has a really good and tense story and gameplay pacing. And it's one of the best games released last year.

Try Dirty Bomb! Its free, gave it a try a few months ago and had alot of fun. Its still in beta (no major bugs, just not feature complete) but there are enough maps for there to be a reason to play it regularly, not to mention the classes!

I've still yet to play a perfect FPS.  They all have their good points but there are none that I've been able to become addicted to, unfortunately.  Maybe if they sped up the speed of Halo, gave Master Chief a bunch of hand to hand melee options and cool evading tactics, and gave each player an awesome weapon to begin with at spawn in every game mode online (so you don't end up with the bs of having to look for a decent weapon while you're getting shot in the face), then we'd have something like a perfect fps.

I like Dirty Bomb, but for some reason my recent matches have been terrible because no one wants use teamwork. It also doesn't help that I don't have friends who like to play things beside Dota 2.

Single player:

Serious Sam (SS2 is slightly different from the rest but it is packed with a lot of parody)

Shadow Warrior

The Talos Principle (not exactly a shooter but awesome first person puzzle game. I liked it more than Portal).

Wolfenstein The New Order

Dishonored

Bioshock Infinite

Edit:

I can't recommend Serious Sam enough. It has also awesome COOP and it is very challenging. I don't recommend you to start with SS3 though as it was not the best.
