Hi there! This is a repeat on my other question http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/389086-what-graphics-card/ but I was surfing around and I found  http://www.videocardbenchmark.net/high_end_gpus.html and there it says that the GTX 970 is the 7th in the list of best graphics cards under the my €300,- budget! On the other question I got answers I have to buy a Radeon R9 290 but that GPU is the 15th on the list! I'm confused right now. IF the GTX 970 is on the 7th place and the R9 290 is on the 15th place WHY is the R9 290 better?!?!? Also, those prices are about the same price in euro's as in dollars. (so 300 dollar means like 300 euro) Can someone please answer this question?

The 290 is a better card.

That list is probably used nvidia biased programs!

Get the 290!!!!

EDIT - I originally thought this was about price, I fixed that!

Because that list isn't a game, it's synthetic and it's biased towards Nvidia.

The R9 290 is definitly not a better card than the GTX 970.

The R9 390 might be better, but not the older 290. And even the 390 is not a clear winner. It might have more VRAM, but the pure performance is pretty much on par with the 970.

So I would get a R9 390, but not a 290.

Yeah, but the 390 is over my €300,- budget. Also I don't like the discussion between NVIDIA fanboys and AMD fanboys, I just want the clear FACTS, because only then I can choose. Not if NVIDIA or AMD fanboys go in and choose their favorite company because it is their favorite.

Then go and get a GTX 970.

Btw.: Where do you live? I'm able to find the R9 390 for 309,- €. It's still over your budget, but really not by much.

I live in The Netherlands. Yeah I know about the €309,- but that is only €9,- over. I mean I don't want like €50,- over budget.
