I personally wouldn't fold on this card, since it's outdated and will do not much else than raise your energy bill....

EDIT:

I'm aware that every tiny bit in research helps, but since every tiny bit comes at its cost. So you have to decide wether you want to fold at this price or not.
You're probably best off, if you get this card and try it yourself!

Should your scores be below your expectations or below your "margin of profitability" in terms of power consumption and PPD, you can then still decide to stop folding on your GPU.

EDIT 2:
Should probably read my posts BEFORE posting them...

At this point a 7770 (basic GCN architecture) would rape a 260 GTX in PPD.

if you are thinking about how i said I may buy a 7770, that guy decided he wanted to keep it and he was charging me $50 not $20 anyway.

50 bucks is actually very good for that card mate, i mean 50 bucks is like 35 pounds here... it's nothing, and a 7770 can still push 1080p with some settings up... well judging by my old 6870.

my parents have 5kw array of solar which is mostly unused during the day and our feed back tarif is negligable, and I would only fold during the day, so the price to me and my family is very negligable.

I cant buy the 7770. I said that. It is no longer for sale. I have however already purchased the gtx 260 (note: it is a core 216 v3 card)

my 2 2GB cards from Asus almost max out GTA V at 60FPS 1080P. Only thing not maxed is MSAA which is at 2X

260 is not supported. 400 series and above required. 600 recommended. Most projects will fail on the 400.

And I guess that settles it. You can't fold with the 260.

You can still Boinc with it, though. I'm yet to see a card fail at Primegrid's PPS Sieve subproject... Like seriously, even the laptop G105m succeds at those tasks (super slow, though), I bet a 260 would be perfectly capable.

I'm not sure about that, somewhere in this forum I read that above 400-series works but I didn't found anything official...

It's 400-series and above, I know as I have a 480. :P

You cannot fold on that card, I believe if I remember correctly it has to be a 400 series or higher to fold. The 200's are no longer supported.
