I aim to upgrade from a HDD to an SSD of the same size or larger. I am using Windows 7 Home Premium x64. I would like to be able to create a backup of my system as well as a clone image to move to the SSD when ever I get one. No intention of upgrading to Windows 10 anytime soon.

I'm eyeing Acronis True Image 2015 with Disk Director 12 (they're on sale) and Novastor's Novabackup.

I come across many reviews of ATI 2015 wrecking systems and making them hang & sometimes making them non bootable. Should I go for Novabackup instead? Which is more reliable?

I'll give it a go on my test system, see how it does. Thank you. Anyone else have any input on this topic?
