Budget z97

Go to solution Solved by grizzlypaugh,

pro4 vs extreme4? I read the extreme4 is better than the pro4? at least it is worth spending the extra few bucks for.

Hello, I am looking for a good z97 1150 mobo for my brother. He has a budget of right around $100. He uses it for gaming and everyday use. Thanks.

Does he need Z97? or will H97 / H81 work? Cause unless he's got a K series chip you could save some money and potentially put it towards more ram, an ssd, etc.

If he NEEDs Z97 the Asrock Z97 Pro 4 is a good choice, if not Asrock H97 Pro4, followed by Asrock H81-HDS.

Technically a Z87 board would also do for a 4th gen unlocked i3/5/7.

He would just need to update the BIOS.

True, but the question is does he need a Z series board?
