Hello so I'm overclocking my 4790K for the first time. It's now @ 4.6GHz with 1.198V.

Soooo I just want to ask you guys does this chip have a potential? I now have Hyper 212 EVO with only one fan attached and should I go for cuatom loop and push it or is this absolutely unlucky chip and I even shouldn't go overclocking it?

It's not a bad chip, and custom loops are just so overkill/expensive. An aio cooler would probably be sufficient enough to get more ghz

I did not really like the temps I saw when people reviewed various AIO solutions with 4790K @ 4.7GHz. That's why I'm considering a custom loop and I would have probably a ton of fun building it. And JayzTwoCents posted a video back in a while when he built a custom loop for as low as 200 USD... Sooo I wouldn't go for 1000 USD complete overkill loop to run it I would probably go for 250 maybe 300 USD without the fans cause I already have some Corsair SP140's and AF140's (I know not the best of the fans but dayum they're sexy)...

Why not go for the ekwb predator for $200 and its expandable.
