The pins are bent...

I know, but what problems did this cause?

What is the point of this post?

Nice Mythbusters reference :)

Just use a razor blade and the existing straight pins to realign the bent ones.

Use a razor blade to reline the pins into place, or if you don't want to risk it RMA it聽

Did not cause any problem at all - It's a CPU from ~2001 and the computer it was in died long ago.. No point in returning it either... Probably gonna put it on a keychain or something

Yeah had the same problem when I ordered my CPU from Newegg; all the pins on one side were either bent or broken when we opened the box (and to top it off they wouldn't refund it). Depending on where you bought it from and how recently you bought it you might be able to return it if it came like that. If you can't return it I recommend using a razor or a pair of tweezers to straighten them out.

I took it out of an old PC that was from ~2001. No need to return it. Just thought I would post it for fun ;)

ROFL. The "just RMA it" posts made this worth looking at.

Also tip if you want to make it a Keychain clip the pins off and then sand them smooth. I had a Pentium MMX as a Keychain and I didn't do that. Lost a couple pockets.

Yup. Regular drill bit works fine.

OK, and no risk of explosion, since there's no battery. Right?

lol no risk, you'll be safe. Just go through the outside edge, not the center to keep the "cool part" intact.

IMO, if you are going to make a keychain out of it, trim off all the FGA contact pins -- they will get all bent out of shape anyways (if you actually use it as a keychain).

Plus, it will make it look less "cluttered."
