I have a Lenovo idealpad Z510 (core I7 model), 2 months ago my battery stopped recharging and I did my work while plugged in all the time, I v recently bought a new battery, opened the inside of the laptop and replaced the old one with the new battery, I still get the same (plugged in, not charging) message. Any solutions?

Have you considered that the cable is the issue?

Is it stuck at 60%? Check your Lenovo Power Manager and see if it's set to Maximum Battery Lifespand rather than Maximum Battery Life. That's what my P580 does if it's set to Maximum Battery Lifespand mode. Charges to 60% then says "Plugged in but not charging".

lenovo hate inc: the solution is not getting lenovo.

--

i've actually not heard anything good come from the lenovo side in a really long time...

you could send it in for repairs, but that's not gonna be all that much of a great experience most likely...

No, it is stuck at 0%, I v tried calibrating the battery but it is refusing to do so, sent it over to repairs with no benefit at all, and I can't flash BIOS because it is below 30%

Does it charge when the PC is not in use? (i.e turned off)

yeah it could, for instance, if shaking it made the power port make contact with broken solder point it could have caused a spark, and if you are super unlucky a fire. so it COULD hurt but probably won't unless it has an HDD and not an SSD

Troubleshooting a pc will make you believe in gremlins.

well... i have to say my samsung laptop is probably the least dangerous case to do this with.

its literally an empty box with a CD drive, a hard drive and some RAM taped to an i7 and a GT540m

aint much that can go wrong there.
