ok

thanks

It will put out less heat as well. The forum here doesnt like AMD cpus for gaming usually, not to start another flame war...

ok. is the 4690k "future proof"

No less future proof than anything else.

Id say going skylake would be "future proofing" as you would be buying DDR4 RAM which will still be good later on.

It shouldnt be a bottleneck for games intil about 2017-2018 ish

in my opinion, skylake isnt worth it. To be honest, upgrading my sandy bridge isnt worth it.

Of course not sandy can keep up no problem. But if u had a second gen i7/i5 it would be a bottleneck so coming from tradition id say intel CPUs last 3-4 years before bottlenecking the latest GPUs.

Skylake isnt worth it BUT if i spend 80$ on DDR3 RAM but the next system i make is DDR4 i will need to buy DDR4 RAM then instead of resuing the RAM. thus if skylake is 80$ or less more than a 4690k its worth it to get skylake IMO

I'm not sure if i should get a AMD FX8350 or an Intel i5 4690K for gaming and nothing else.

please tell me which one

If you're not overclocking, I'd go with the 4690 non-K series chip instead.

Intel Core i7-6700K | Corsair H105 | Asus Z170I PRO GAMING | G.Skill TridentZ Series 16GB | 950 PRO 512GB M.2

Asus GeForce GTX 980 Ti 6GB STRIX OC | BitFenix Prodigy (Black/Red) | XFX PRO Black Edition 850W

My BuildPCPartPicker | CoC

I dont think an LGA 2011 CPU is bottlenecking my 3930k. Maybe a little, but eh. Changed my member title to something funny.

Well to be clear, it's not the forum that "doesn't like them," it's that they objectively underperform in games compared to their competition. It's just cold, soulless data.

yah, I guess. But "doesn't like them" was shorter :P
