Budget? At which resolution do you wish to game?

Though about considering a laptop?

Why would he? Unless he needs to move it around better go for the value and upgradability of a desktop.

Resolution default 1080p,I dont really need 4K

A desktop at this budget is really overkill for 1080p, I would consider going for a 1440p monitor.

Tried my best it really can't, a 980 will do fine at 1080p though. I included a 144z 1080p monitor sense you are adamant with 1080p

If you want a better card than the 980 get the R9 Fury (non-X)

edit here is how much the build will cost with a fury, if you want a 980ti it will cost 1930 dollars

Those Parts are good. But if you want real power, forget the gtx980 and the fury. Get a 980Ti.

It doesn't fit his budget though. 200 dollar off of it and he will game in 1080p so I guess it's fine.
