Hi LTT!

I would be happy if you could help me with this problem. As the title says my school is blocking certain websites. I have tried to use IPVanish and Tor, but neither is working. Another concern for me and my classmates is also that they are spying on what sites we are on. Any help?

Thanks in advance,

Gustav

They block sites for a reason. If a site is blocked that you should be viewing, ask a system admin to unblock it? If there's nothing wrong with it, then they should do it. (that site is fine as far as I'm aware)

Again, they record what sites you visit for a reason. Get used to it, because any work place will being doing it to you too.

there's no point of bypassing your school network as you'll get yourself in trouble. They're monitoring your history and everything.

save the p0rn for home later.

I am not endorsing this kind of behaviour and you've already been warned by the others which risks you might take.

My school does the same thing with urban dictionary too. Not sure why too.

I tried VPNs but still nothing. Led me to believe that they block all ports except port 80.

you can unblock websites via the CMD alongside the numerous VPN's and Proxy servers. and if you load up a browser from a none internal source like a USB stick then that would function the same way but without any blocks etc because the file location is stored on the USB instead of the school servers

They are most likely blocking ports. Some don't only block websites, but also words.

So someone said Urban dictionary. If people visit the website and it has a banned word, then after a certain amount of hits it will just block the whole website.

"Another concern for me and my classmates is also that they are spying on what sites we are on"

Of course they are. You're using their internet, not the other way around.

You're in a public school, so everyone will be monitored. It's not spying if it's done in public, and on top of that you most likely consented to them watching your computer usage when you first signed up to the school.

It's like this in every single work place I have ever been. They will keep your internet history for years to use as and when needed.

You may find a website that unblocks the web, maybe even a program but they will catch on, and then block that.

You're wasting your own time, and theirs.

It's not a race to the bottom.
