I was just wondering, has any one tested how SLI/CF works when playing a game.

For example in Witcher 3 with a 980 and maxed out settings, the single 980 will struggle to push the frames, so by adding a second 980, does your primary card (the top one) get pushed to its limit to run the settings before the second card kicks in to help or is the load somewhat split "50/50" between the 2 cards from the start?

There are multiple ways to implement multi-GPU, but currently the way it works is that each card renders every other frame, so the load is split evenly.

I wont trust wiki. Everyone can type what they want there.

SLI and CF is a technology used for gpus.

So you can run multiple gpus. In one game its more optimized than others but indeed it will be used 50/50. (not in all cases).
