Okay, so I have garbage dsl 10MB/s down and .8MB/s up. My current router is not doing the job. I just don't want to mess up and end up wasting money, so will this router work?

I Have 3 wired ethernet devices. 3 PS3s. An iPhone. An iPod 4th Gen. Netflix streaming on 1-2 ps3s at a time (one 1080p the other 480p). Also, do I need a DSL filter? I don't have a phone...

id personally get them seperatly..get a good dsl modem..and then a good router

I would get them separately as well. I have used this device, though, and it works well. I liked my DSL + Nighthawk much better though (I know, a lot for DSL, but I wanted it for the intranetwork communications)

$150 isn't a great budget for both, a combo device might be best in your situation. My DSL model alone cost about $60, with an employee discount. A good router on top of that would more than max out your budget, in my experience.

Wouldn't it be easier to just buy a modem/router on amazon and hook it up myself? I hate centurylink support.

can't i just put my westell 7500 in bridge mode?

maybe

but Ive been reading some reviews...apparently the modem doesn't even give the supported bandwidth it should be

I only say get CL to give you a new one ..cause then you don't have to pay for it..and the actiontec one is decent

Really? They don't charge you for it?

Either they are already charging you monthly to rent the current device from them, or you bought it outright with your first month's payment. In the first case, you just have to convince them or ask nicely to have the unit swapped out for the other one. In the latter case then you can just buy whatever you want because they aren't going to do squat for you for free.

Sorry for the late reply.

I might be switching to Dish Network because they have 2x the speed @ 1/2 the price.
