Do I need a CPU cooler?

Go to solution Solved by Fatelinha,

The R5 comes with Two 140mm fans, pretty good ones. If your not overclocking you need no cpucooler, but the stock one may be a bit louder than other Coolers

So, this is the build; http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/p/DCzKt6

Does v it need a cooler for gaming if I am not overclocling? Also how much fans come with the define r5?

Thanks

You don't need a different cooler than the stock one for that cpu. But I'd recommend an i5 instead of a xeon for gaming.

Any specific I5? I could swap that out for a K series and overclock?

If the Xeon is the same as the i5 spec wise, there is no reason to get the i5.

That was my thinking, I could overclock a I5, but that would v raise the the cost.

Yes, if you dont attach a CPU cooler to your CPU it will overheat, im not even sure if it will boot without one :P But you can use the stock cooler, you dont need to purchase an aftermarket cooler, however if youre running a stock CPU cooler you might also want to consider getting a refrence GPU :)

Wouldn't Venturi's be better for the front and bottom intakes?

I have no experience with the Venturi fans but the default ones are pretty good and silent. Even when I set the fan controller to the max they are still bearable but on low they are just perfect for the case
