Project BAWL - by solomon

solomonqt
After my first project "Tweety", where I colored my old HAF 912 case white and blue
I took interest in modding but I never really had a reason to do something
on my new case, Corsair Carbide 540 Cube but after a year or two, I finally do.
I'm gonna put in my first custom loop so I decided to color the case as well once again.

I always loved using white as a base color for everything. I love the clean look of it so after my first project, Tweety I decided to once again use the same matt white color I used last time. The idea is simple! White bases with having the black on front, top and back(fan guard).

(BAWL stands for Black and White)

My current setup:
MB - ASUS Maximus VII Hero
CPU - Intel 4770k (delided)
GPU - Asus R9 280X DirectCU II Top
RAM - 2x4GB Corsair VENGEANCE
PSU - XFX Pro Series 750W 80+ Bronze
SSD - x2 Samsung SSD EVO 840 120GB
STORAGE - x1 1TB WD Red 7200rpm + x1 500GB WD

Purchase list:
CPU block - EK Supremacy EVO
GPU block - EK-FC970 GTX TF5
Radiators - Alphacool NeXxoS XT45 + ST30
Reservoir + Pump/Top combo - EK-D5 Vario X-RES100
Tubing - PrimoChill 13/10mm (white)
Fittings - x12 EK-ACF 10/13 (white)
Fluid - EK-Ekoolant EVO Clear(2L)
GPU - MSI GeForce GTX 970 Gaming

Alright, so the ONLY reason I bought a new gpu is because every single block for my 280x went EoL so I just yolo'ed and made it easier for myself by buying a new gpu.

The routing(amazing paint skills):
I'm unsure if I will be able taking the tubing on the left as I have on the picture though. I may have to take them from the right side. We'll see.

Since this is an ongoing project from Sweclockers.com I'm just gonna show you the pictures from the painting session right here in the #0.

First layer with primer:L66XGgW.jpg

By the second layer it was really even all over and I was really satisfied.

First layer of white! In the end I did 2-3 layers to get it all even.

Meanwhile the case was drying up I painted the other parts:

Unfortunately I accidentally put my finger right here... It doesn't show AS much IRL though.

Everything put together for a test:

Putting the shizzle together again at home :D

and soon I won't be needing this cooler any longer, even though I find it really good.

The main reason I'm gonna get this custom waterloop is because of my GPU. I really hated the fans speeding up while gaming and the temps being as "high". Everything cleaned out. New thermal compound and so on but still the temps are the same.

However, It's not the only reason. I also always wanted to do a custom waterloop so I'm doing this to get some more experience in this wonderful world of technology.

On Monday(14th of September) everything will most likely be delievered and I will go down to the store and get them out, unfortunately I won't be able to build anything before weekend since I'm going to renovate my apartment.

Alright, so that's the first part I guess.

Either on Friday or Saturday I will start building the waterloop and I'll be livestreaming it at the same time over at Twitch. Am I allowed to link it? ;p

Until later: Have a great day!

Sincerely,

Jimmy

The package looked horrible when I picked it up so I was afraid something would've been broken. However, It seems like everything is as it should be.

Either on Friday or Saturday afternoon I'll start building the loop. I'm really excited. :3
