Hey guys, i've been experiencing some random shutdowns for a while now, but i really need to fix it.

Basically what happens is that my computer shuts down instantly, and i dont get power from the psu anymore ( no lights on mobo or gpu ). Its important to note that whatever i do, i cant get power from the psu before a few minutes. Most of the time, i just unplug the cord, wait 5-10min, plug it back in and then flick the switch and it goes back on! But sometimes i have to wait 30min+ Today, it did it again, only, i've waited 2hrs+ and i cant not get power from it what so ever!

It doesnt have to do with loads, sometimes i go 8hrs+ while pulling 1100w+ and dont crash and sometimes i crash while drawing less than 300w.

Its not the power cable, i tried with two different ones and it doesnt change anything.

Its not my power source, because my monitor are on the same and they dont go off.

Please help me!

Why would it be shorting out? Why would it randomly short out? Why wouldnt the components short out other power supplys?

Try unplugging the connections and do the paperclip test on the 24 pin to see if it powers on first, if you turn on the unit and hear a click from it it's usually the short circuit protection kicking in so check all your cables and unplug every and re-plug it usually that will work.

Just took it out of the case and tried self test, the light doesnt turn on and the fan doesnt spin so guess its pretty much dead then... Anything else i could try?

Edit: i tried putting it back in and for some reason, even though i couldnt self test, its working now

Ok well, it powered on once, and now that i turned it off its just like its dead again...

Edit: I gave it a little tap, and it turned on magically, i am definitively going to rma, its too unreliable
