I bought a evga 750w psu a few days ago, and I used the jumper to test if its working since I don't have a desktop. right after I plug in the power cable and switch it on, there was a spark right under the psu fan and its dead. I made an RMA and they are going to refund the money. Now that I give the same psu another try (since its $10 cheaper the other day I checked) I was wonder could anyone here figure out if I did anything wrong? or it is just another defective unit?

like said above you have to have done something wrong, EVGA PSU's don't do that....

Pretty sure you killed it. You can email EVGA and ask them if it would be possible to return it.

My account is almost entirely dormant. Hope you all are having a grand time. Many years of fun were had here.

Well you most likely jumpered the wrong pins on the connector. In which case you would have been responsible for its demise.

but there is no way I can put the jumper in the wrong direction right? I tried flipping the jumper around to make sure there are no other possible way to plug it in.

That image is obviously just an image off of google. We have no way of telling if he put the jumper into the wrong pins or not. The image is actually just of an image of a device the jumpers it for you, so you can never mess up.

My native language is C++
