Hey there, I've been planning my first ever build for a little while now and I'd really appreciate an opinion on what I've managed to put together. My goal with this build was to have a gaming pc that would be able to run pretty much any game on high settings since I've been gaming for years now on a laptop that struggled to run anything. It comes to £1260 including a monitor which is just about what I'm comfortable spending although I could go maybe £100 more if need be.

I mostly planned it out with gaming as pretty much it's main purpose, but recently I've been toying around with a few ideas for videos I can make about gaming (some analysis on competetive LoL and how to make gold on the auction house in wow in case you were wondering). Will I be able to do that with what I have? The thing is I'm loathe to change my entire build to something capable of video editing because it's just an idle idea right now, not something that I'm DEFINITELY going to do. Whereas I know for a fact that I will be gaming a lot.

Anyway, without further ado:

Also I do want a second monitor, a mechanical keyboard and a new headset at some point, but it's not a priority. If you have any recommendations for a keyboard and headset especially that would be great though.

Thanks for your time!

-snip-

Looks mostly good to me but, as stated previously, if you are planning on doing video editing at some point, I would recommend the 4790K or entry level Xeon.

Also, any particular reason for having a dedicated network card instead of using the mobo's ethernet port?

What does that network card gain?

That seems like a waste of PCIe slot and money

Some people literally CANT get Ethernet.

Thanks for the all the replies, really helpful. I think i'm going to change the processor for an i4790k as suggested. Yeah I don't know what the network card was doing there, I think i was tinkering last night when i got home after a night out so was just a dumb drunk click xD I do need a wifi card though.
