How much are you looking to spend?

Id just pick up an i7 or i5 depending on what you need and then wait it out a bit on the 270X since its still a very capable card.

i5 4460 + H97 mobo.

I wouldn't get an i5 because for what I do more a 8320 is better

Unless you're into video editing and streaming, the i5 is surely a better bet. You could also pick up a Xeon 1231 and have a cheaper locked i7.

 

For a gpu probably under 300 and if it were a cpu under 400

270X is fine for any game at the moment.

Then you can skip an upgrade or save up for the Xeon :P

Options are;

Well Xeon 1230 V3 (costs not much more than an i5 is equivalent to an i7 4770(Quad Core w/ Hyperthreading)) 

Nvidia graphics card for Cuda Acceleration maybe?

an SSD

More ram

Get a new CPU. A Xeon 1231 V3 or 1241 V3 are great choices :D Its an i7 4770K/4790K with no iGPU and it costs as much as a 4690K.

Get a Xeon and H97 motherboard and you will be v happy ^_^
