Probably because it's cheap and will die in 1-1.5 years.

 

I know about some cheap psu that still work after 6 years. And also about some "gaming" psu that fail after 1 month. Price mean nothing sometime.

But you haven't proven me wrong, you've only shown your lacking knowledge of computers. All i was pointing out was you have simply halved the availiable memory bandwidth to the CPU by only utilising half the channels, and i am pointing out that you should purchase another stick, i am confused as to why you keep stating the point that you got the memory for free, that may be so but you should purchase a second stick to fully leverage the performance of that memory because that is some really low latency RAM :) , i am also not sure why you spent the time and money to sleeve your cables and add LED lights when they have no impact on performance, if you can't afford another stick of RAM maybe it's because you spent all your money on lighing and wiring.

RAM: $79.99

Tom's Hardware found little significant difference between single-channel and dual-channel configurations in synthetic and gaming benchmarks (using a "modern (2007)" system setup). In its tests, dual channel gave at best a 5% speed increase in memory-intensive tasks.

This brings up one question... Is $80 worth a ~5% speed increase? I think not.

 

Anyways, I'm sure that pretty lights and sleeved cables are proven to make a computer faster.
