Get a Xeon1231v3 w/ a H97 motherboard, and a R9 390.

Then don't get that PSU. It's not good for high end systems, it has a low max temperature that'll result.. Well in a faulty power supply.

Get a EVGA g2 or GS

Any XFX

Any SeaSonic

Or any SuperFlower.

refer to this chart for power supply choice.

either get a non-k cpu (or xeon) with a H97 board

or get a k cpu with a Z97 board

certainly when going overclockable i7, you *want* that cooler.

cut back on the SSD a bit, 500GB is a tad overkill.

add an extra hard drive instead, so you have a decent chunk of storage.

get a define R5 over that define R4, its a bit more "refined"

The the extra $20 for a 250gb SSD. Also get a BeQuiet! Pure Rock CPU. He mentioned streaming and stuff, get a Xeon 1231v3 w/ H97 motherboard and the Pure Rock for a more quiet build.

4690K is enough for streaming @1080p 60 fps as long as his  internet is okay. No worries on that.

What you have laid out there, Sir, is not a gaming computer.  The CPU is far to powerful compared to the graphics card for gaming to the point where you are wasting money.

Also get a 120 GB SSD and a 1 TB hard drive (WD blue, for example).

Also don't get that PSU.. it's a total piece of junk.  Take a Seasonic G2 520 watt instead,  a bit more expensive but far higher quality.

Pretty good, but at this price point you could might as well bump it to at least r9 390. :)

Depends on his budget, not picking on you :P

A few questions first. What's your budget? Do you plan on overclocking? What kind of games do you plan and what settings do you hope to play them at? As for what you have now, it all looks good in general. However, I suggest getting a lower capacity ssd and a mechanical hard drive. I've always liked that combo. Many people here will say the r9 380 is a better choice for the gpu, but 960 is good as well, but you should get the 4 GB model. Finally, consider a PSU upgrade. The CX is ok, but it's as basic as you can get. Also, have you used pcpartpicker to choose your parts? It's really helpful
