I ain't the one circlejerking that 40-45FPS in Witcher is unplayable or that the "PCMR" should only play at 60FPS ULTRA settings 8X MSAA.

My opinion still remains that 4K is shit and overhyped after using everything from the Acer Predator XB280HK (4K TN G-SYNC) to the BenQ BL3201PT (4K IPS 32 inch)

If I had a 4k high refresh rate display and I had the money, yes, I would certainly run two 980Ti's. Why? Because I like running all my games maxed or close to it at 60fps average or higher.

That's my problem, i don't like 4K because it's now limited to 60hz. Next year we will see 4K 120hz monitors with Displayport 1.3 maybe then I'm going to consider it.

I did pretty much just that over the last 8 months. I used to run a mini ITX rig in a little Node 304. Then I realized I was limited in the options I had if I wanted more performance, so I upgraded to an NZXT S340 and Z97 SLI compatible motherboard (because 2 PCIe 3.0 slots at 8x/8x instead of 16x/4x) and I also upgraded my power supply for the sole purpose of being able to run two 290's if I want. (which now I am). To me, it was worth it. 

 

And, you'll love this, I game on a single 1080p 60hz display. I run most games at 1440p with VSR which is why I added the 2nd 290. One wasn't quite enough to run everything as well as I preferred. Next year I plan on upgrading my display to either 1440p ultrawide or a 16:9 4k with freesync.

Also, no single card could max The Witcher or GTA V etc. and maintain 60 fps. That's why I went with 2 Fury X's. The scaling is so much better.

41 is enjoyable in Witcher 3 but not in Battlefield where every millisecond matters. My kill/death ratio nearly doubled from 0.7 to 1.3 now.

Oh by the way, Paul's Hardware did a 980 vs Fury X vs 980Ti video where the 980Ti had better benchmarks without any overclocking, so I'm not sure how normal Fury's can beat +1500mhz 980Ti's...
