i have a P8H67-M motherboard right now, and it has the CPU socket that i need, aswell as a PCI-e slot for the GPU that im about to buy. its old though, so should i upgrade it?

 

im not planning to upgrade my ram, witch is just as old as the motherbaord.

 

im planning to have a 6core i7 with a 960, or a 4core i5 with a 980. im working with CGI and aftereffects, but i also want proper preformance during gaming.

 

anyway what im here for is to know, with those specs mentioned above, should i upgrade my motherboard or is the one i have fine?

you can go from h97/z97 to to x99?

do you already have one of said processors? because indeed its all a tad old.

What i7 do you plan on putting in it? Since one of the x99 2011-v3 i7 wont fit.

thats not an issue, im just wondering if the one i've got now is a bit outdated and if that will impact the preformance of my GPU and CPU.

exactly which CPU are you looking to put in it? Because I don't think there are any 6-core i7 CPUs that are compatible with that board

actually you are right.. didnt know all 6cores needed a 2011 socket..

here is a list of relevant motherboards, any suggestions among those?

i only need 1 pci-e and dont need that many sata ports. other than that i dont know witch one to pick cause i assume that the ports are not the most important about a motherboard..
