Streaming PC questions.

Go to solution Solved by FuzzyYellow,

a 4170 will work perfectly fine. people use G3258's for streaming PCs all the time.

yes, the onboard graphics are enough. If you want to have more CPU headroom, you could use quick sync.

This PC will be secondary machine that will be used for streaming only, no gaming.

Now to the question, is an i3 4170 enough to stream? I would assume so but when i searched on youtube every youtuber and their dog seem to have i7's in their streaming PC's.

And also, just to make sure a graphics card is not required right? Integrated is good enough(?)

Quick replies are appreciated :)

I would think a i3 would be capable of streaming if you aren't directly gaming on it but not sure about iGPU

No, for this kind of purpose with this budget, the FX-8320 would be better in my opinion. APU A10-7870k would be a good choice if you don't need the dedicated GPU

The reason most people uses an i7 for streaming, is that the HD decoders can require quite a bit of CPU power.

Most youtubers/streamers also have webcams and overlays, whichs adds to the needed CPU power.

Plus they most likely also uses it as an render pc, so they can upload the streamed video after.

I speak my mind, sorry if thats a problem.
