The amount of money that you're willing to spent is quite important. We can recommend solution from $20-$20000,but knowing what you want to spend will help everyone.

I looked up the mod mic but I don't like the idea of having another cable being run from headphones to pc

Modmic

Read what he said and stop going around telling everyone to buy a modmic, he's already said he doesn't want one.

Listen to what they say, what budget, and what preferences they have, then make a suggestion.

He is already getting headphones he can just do some cable ties if both ports are not that far off. So far you haven't recommended a single thing. You can deduce that OP has been looking at the HD558 so this is around $150~ USD for headphones. At least try and make a recommendation before you think you are helping.

Enjoy those tacos now, for in 1000 years they will be illegal... eh Ha Ha Ha! I think we all know why.

HD 5xx series has cracking issues for some people, but otherwise a great buy.

You could ziptie or heatshrink or sleeve the cable of the modmic or zalman to your headphones if the dual cables would bug you - I haven't done so and don't have a problem with two wires that I don't have with one. If you're still not convinced Blue (a company) is usually what gets recommended for desktop mics.

Or you could set up the modmic somehow as a desktop mic as well. Just imagine the applications.

If he's not happy ghetto rigging cables, I doubt he'd wanna ghetto rig a Mic stand.

It would be a better solution as there wouldn't be a need to use the base clasp for headphones.

I loved my hd595's, Mine were starting to crack, but just be careful and don't sit on them or drop them and it should be fine.

as for the modmic, just zip tie it to the headphone cable and you only have 1 cable to mess with.

Will work for electronic components and parts

He's already stated that he doesn't want it, and you didn't provide any reason for it.

He still hasn't stated a budget, and I'm not going to make an assumption.

Yes he did not state a budget, he also didn't state from the beginning his preference. tl;dr for me with the posts after it. If you're not even going to recommend something that would generally be within most headphones budget than quit your crying. It is OP's fault for not stating a budget but you keep posting here without actually recommending anything.

sorry for not replying again sooner but my budget would be about $50 or somewhere around $100 if it was really decent. as far as what type of mic, im kinda leaning towards a desktop mic that wont pick up sound from speakers behind it if there are any like that.

There's a big jump in quality once you reach $100 headphones, and you're not getting a 558 for that, btw. :P
