Drinking a whole bottle of soap would give a negative reaction, that's to be expected. Downing a small amount is harmless.

Anything is dangerous in large quantities - same reason why you never take the whole bottle of painkillers but just 1 - it's usage is controlled.

7/10 people I know throw up from McDonalds - that is not a small number

EDIT: Soap is essentially NaOH (Sodium Hydroxide) - in small doses it's nothing to worry about - if it's a concentrated substance then it's lethal.
