Weird question

Go to solution Solved by WoodenMarker,

Ok

1. If you have a Nvidia 970 and a 980 titian on the same board not in SLI the titan will downgrade to match the 970?

2. If you have a 980 titan and a Fury X neither will downgrade on the same board?

Or i could have misunderstood the video on #1.

1. No

2. Yes

nope - thanks to Nvidia drivers that is no longer possible

No.

They definitely can be used in the same system--even in sli and cf.

nope - thanks to Nvidia drivers that is no longer possible

Edit: What--since when?

Moved to Graphics Cards.

Can you use a Nvidia card and a ATI card in the same build? For example use the ATI card for bit/litecoins and game on the Nvidia card at the same time with no drawbacks.

Dafuq is ATI? I've only heard of AMD... No, seriously, what year do you hail from?

ATI is the AMD graphics cards.

You're a youngster.

I know what ATI is. It's just AMD.

So basically 4 months ago and some odd days this was possible without a doubt. But was there any drawbacks such as the ATI limiting it's ram/gpu to match the nvidia card and vise versa?

AMD and Nvidia cards don't sli or cf with each other--they would work independently.

So 2 different Nvidia/ATI card not in SLI/CF will downgrade to whatever is slower on the same motherboard but a Nvidia and ATI on the same motherboard wont?

Your question doesn't make sense. Please reword.

Well that answers that so thank you :)! Only other question I have is what ATI card I should get for mining?

*shrug*

You should probably go to the Mining subforum for that http://linustechtips.com/main/forum/37-foldinghome-boinc-and-coin-mining/
